Therefore you shall keep My statutes,
and keep My ordinances and perform them..
....I will command My blessing upon you
in the sixth year, so that it will bring
forth fruit for three years.
When you sow in the eighth year,
you will be eating old produce;
until the ninth year, when its produce
comes in, you shall eat the old.
The land shall not be sold in
perpetuity,
for the land is Mine........

I SAID NO."

Oh, well."

"What is it now, precious."

"Well, 'Ya know,
I don't know if anybody's
thought of this - but,
well.......You're, like,
really STRICT."

[NOD.]

"Eh, well.......just look at this
stuff in Leviticus. I can't BELIEVE
You're givin' 'em FARMING rules."

"BELIEVE IT, child."

(sigh)
"Well....what about.....
'Ya know, UP THERE?"

"Up where, child."

"Up. You know
(thumb up): up THERE."

"Ah."

"WELL?
What ABOUT it?"

[SILENCE.]

"Hasn't anybody THOUGHT
about that: all Your strict RULES?"

[SMILE.]

"I mean, are, like, we gonna'
have all that strict stuff
up in HEAVEN?
(silence)
Oy VEY."

"WE'LL SEE."

"The thing is, everybody thinks
of what THEIR heaven would
be like......but, that's not what
it's gonna' be like, AT ALL."

[NOD.]

"Everybody pictures this,
like, big PARADISE.
But......"

"But WHAT, My precious?"

"I don't THINK so.
I bet You'll even have
rules about how many
PETS we can have!"

"IF I SAY SO, child."

"Yeah....but, I'm used
ta' landlords.....I know
how ta' squeak around
that stuff."

"Not this Landlord, child.
Not this One."

If a man dedicates to the Lord
part of the land which is his.....
then your valuation shall be
according to the seed for it;
a sowing of a homer of barley
shall be valued at fifty
shekels of silver...........
All the tithe of the land,
whether of the seed of the land
or of the fruit of the trees,
is the Lord's......
