POLLUTION AND IT'S SOLUTION

Pollution is the destruction of the purity of our environment. Man alone is to be blamed for polluting the environment. He has invented and discovered many things to make life easier. But pollution is a by-product of his inventions. His greed has led him to the indiscriminate removing of forest, evasion of toxic waste and gases into the atmosphere, rivers and oceans. Now his greed and carelessness is forcing him to pay the price.
We here of "the green house effect." Some might think that the green house effect has got something to do with the green house. But it is not. The green house effect is the term given to the depletion of ozone layer. Gaps or holes are created in the layer through which harmful violet radiation from the sun enter and heat up the surface of the earth. As the result, the polar caps are melting and some small islands are getting submerged. The gases emitted from vehicles and industries are forming a layer around the planet.
An another terrible phenomenon of pollution is acid rain. The acid gases emitted into the air combine with water vapour to form droplets of acid. The precipitation occurs in the form of acid rain. It destroys plant life, animal life and corrodes man made materials.
Another disastrous factor about our day to day life is the usage of polythene. It is non-degradable which means it can not be destroyed. It will remain in the same state for thousands of the years. So all the plastic that we are throwing in the form of polythene bags, plastic bottles and cartons pilling up, waiting to be disposed.
The balance of nature is very important. It is an ecologically proved fact that for the balance of earth ecosystem, 33% of the total land should be under permanent vegetal cover but presently our country has only 14% of forest area which is an alarming condition for future. Forest is the silent sentinel of the earth. A slight disturbance can result in disastrous consequences. We should do our utmost to keep the environment free from pollution, keeping in the mind the fact that our earth is the only place where we can live comfortably and happily. We have committed a grievous mistake and should make amends.
The most important thing that we should do to prevent pollution is to grow trees as much as possible as the trees means –
T – True friend in need
R – Resources of fuel and timber
E – Environment pollution purifier
E – Ecological balance keeper
S – Self sacrifice for the benefit of mankind.
