Oh, how I long for heaven tonight. Tonight all that is good seems lost. The stress of the day presses down on me. I long for what I know awaits me. On this night, heaven is in my heart.

When I think of all that is wrong in this world I know there must be a hope beyond. If this life is all I am living for then I might as well not live at all. Yes, tonight heaven is in my heart.

I consider all that is good. I see the beauty and majesty of creation and know that this is but a reflection of what is to come. I think of the love I have known here on earth and know that it is just an imitation of a higher and greater love. And yes, tonight heaven is in my heart.

I look to all who do not know love. There lives are empty and they can’t say why. They live for today and more than the poor or needy I pity them. They have no hope. They do not know that what they are longing for is heaven in their hearts.

I see those who’s hope has waned. They once knew the joy of a hope beyond but that hope has slipped away. They long for this hope, yet their hearts will not receive it. They have forgotten that heaven is in their hearts.

I notice those who are searching. They seek but never find because they look within this time. Their hearts are empty and their souls are lost. They cannot see that what they are missing is heaven in their hearts.

I look to those who know, to those who’s hearts are full. They long for a home they have not seen and a Father they have not touched. They know that heaven is in there hearts.

Yes, tonight heaven is in my heart.
