The world almost had me,
I almost gave in,
What they said was pleasure,
Inside, I knew was sin,
The world almost had me,
They told me succeed!
When I fell on my face,
Jesus called, "Let me Lead".
The world almost had me,
"Drink to forget", they would say,
I heard, You again,
"I am the Truth, the Light, the Way".
The world almost had me,
You sent me believers who were true,
Through their example, I gave my life to You.
Almost,
but now I am free,
Jesus gave new eyes to me.
Almost,
I tried not to care, to just walk away,
Casting anger, I cried, "They lead me astray!".
Yet I find not only my eyes, but my heart is new,
I find my priorities have been rearranged too,
I want them to know the One who frees us,
I want them to know my Savior, my Jesus
