HOLY SPIRIT-PLEASE TAKE OVER THIS DEVOTIONAL AND MINISTER TO EACH ONE WHO READS IT, AMEN

"You are my hiding place, you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." -Psalm 32:7

I love this verse because its such a beautiful promise. We can be surrounded by many things, some good(surrounded by desserts?), or some bad (surrounded by an angry mob? yikes), but one of the promises the Lord gave us is that He will surround us with songs of deliverance. He is our hiding place.

Tuesday night I was at home at it started to storm. It was a very loud storm, you could tell the rain was coming down hard. But I felt so safe because I was in my room, and knew I was in a safe place from the storm. I even told God, keep on raining, it won't affect me! It's such a good feeling to know that despite the storms, we are safe, protected and in good hands.

Rest in His Hands

God made us with His hands, and with the very same hands He "preserves our life." I sometimes get very irrational fear, but the Lord reminds me "how bad can it be? the God of the Universe is surrounding me with His peace and protection! He is always near, and when troubles draw closer, He draws closer still. God is not just God by name, He is a mighty, LIVING and ACTIVE God. When He calls Himself "Deliverer, Defender, and Comforter", He's not kidding!

Remember my Acts

So many times in the old testament, God told His people to remember the good things He has done for them. This is because He knew they were going to face some more trials, and He knew that their memories of God's goodness would come in handy! For God was their hiding place in the past, and He shall be their hiding place in the days to come. He is the same today, yesterday and forerver more. Not only is He a hiding place, but an eternal one! He is stronger than the biggest, deepest cave, and the mightiest rock, for even the rocks give Him praise! He is more trustworthy and dependable than any earthly source of protection.

Will the storms Keep raging?

Yes. We are always going to be facing trials of some kind in our lives, it is inevitable. However, so is God's protection. But like me in my room tuesday night, you can tell that old storm, "keep on raging" or if its Gods will STOP! But regardless if the storm stops or continues, Gods protection is steadfast. We never need to rely on our own strength, but the strength of He who is perfect in any situation. In fact, the only reason we end up in trouble, is because we think we can fight the storm ourselves. I don't know about anyone else, but I really just want to let God take care of it all for me, because I don't know what I'm doing. I'm no match against the trials in my life, but our God is the Ruler of the Universe, all things submit to His command. When the storms come at us, run to the Hiding Place, let the storm rage on, and enjoy the promise of His deliverance and protection from trouble!
