My bones have been weary with fasting
I have cried to You O Lord
I have not kept silent
I have been worn by the reason of oppression
The oppression of the enemy
Day to day they strove with me
Night after night by reason of the battle
The sleep fled from my eyes

Then I remembered Your faithfulness
Your mercies wrapped in Your favour
I cried to Your holy temple
For I remembered there is none like You
The Lord of war, the Mighty God
And You arose and prepared Your mighty sword
Blessed be Your name O Lord
In Your anger You slew the serpents
And they were trodden to the dust by Your Sons
The Sons You have empowered for the battle
Thank You Lord Jesus, Lord, full of compassion
On Your people who dwell with Thee.

How sweet is the Bread of righteousness?
How sweet is the wine of holiness?
Like honey is the sweetness of redemption
And like an everlasting joy is the power of salvation
You have blessed the works of our hands
We sow in Your Glory and-
Eat the fruit our labour in peace.
Mighty God, who would provoke You?
Who would dare?
Like silk tassels in heat they will be devoured
When You move Your right Arm,
Like dry grass Your anger will consume them
For the Lord is awesome and terrible in battle
He thunders from heaven in fury
When terror of the enemies encompasses Your people
And they that hate You, into their holes are fled
Devoured by the fire of Your rage.
How great and awesome is the Lord
How good and kind.
