Is love
Is life
Just a distraction
Until He awakes?
Mighty Lord Cthulhu
Whose very existence makes the universe shake.
His form varies in each telling
From mad to raving men
And underneath the seas
He laughs as each falls dead.
Is he truly dreaming?
Does he really wait?
We pray and bow and worship
So that we may escape
The fate we’re doomed to meet
The death that’s already set
Looming underneath
R’lyeh’s crest.
