Clinging Hearts

He stole a glance at the fist she tried to hide on her lap. Her thigh trembled next to his, wanting to escape.

They dreaded this moment, but clung to the Truth they will see their son again.

He reached over and covered her pain – Hope bonding two grieving hearts.

Blessing of the Sigh

A symphony of song drew me to the seat beneath our Sycamore tree. How like God to infuse such beauty in a moment. I lean back, close my eyes and listen.

Melodies change effortlessly – a balm to this frazzled heart.

A sigh of thanks rises, for one lowly Mocking bird.

Close Encounter

Without looking, I sensed his arrival and felt his interest. I moved out of sight – or at least I thought I had.

“You alone?” he whispered in my ear.

I turned and melted into luscious brown eyes, “Yes, and you?”

Warm lips moved so close to mine, “Happy Anniversary darling.”

Inspiration Personified

Mozart playing in the background, people surrounding tiny tables – chattering away as they sipped latte’s or enjoyed fresh sandwiches. Lines backed up for cinnamon buns or Double Fudge Delight – newspapers left behind, politics the heat of discussions.

Ahhh … the perfect place to write.

Chicken is as Chicken Does.

“I can’t do this!” I whispered in my sister’s ear. “I’m goin back.”

She grabbed my hand, “You stay right here!”

“B..but.”

“No buts. Don’t be such an old chicken.”

I looked down my nose at all the kids in line. “I don’t care, I’m not riding Goofy’s Barnstormin Rollorcoaster!”

Wow Pat ... talk about a rollercoaster of stories. From that very sad first one, right through to the fun of being a chicken (join the club), you provided a wonderful mix of reading. I'm so glad you jumped in this week's mini-challenge. Love, Deb

Oh my goodness, Pat--are you ME?

#4--I want to go there.

#5--I actually wrote a blog a couple of years ago about my traumatic experience on Goofy's Barnstormer. I'll try to find a link for you. Never again, I tell you. Never again. (shuddering)
