"Lord! LORD!"

"What, My child."

"I'm mad at You, again!"

"Maybe, I'm mad
just cuz' I feel like it.
So what? What do
You care?"

"Speak plainly, child."

"I thought I was speaking
plainly, Lord! I just think
You're off on Pluto,
again!"

"No, child.
I'm right here."

"I wish I were a genius,
Lord."

"Why, child."

"Then I could say, without
looking it up, how many miles
it was between Earth and Pluto."

"Ah, I see."

"It's......it's a lot of miles.
The point is ......."

"What, My precious little one."

"Don't try to make me
smile, Lord! I'm in no
mood!"

"Anyhow, back to my point:
there's this misty blackness
that runs between You
and us. And, it goes all the way
to Pluto."

"Who is us, child."

"Well.....me, for one."

[NOD.]

"You're just sitting there, on
Pluto, facing the other way -
and looking out toward all
the pretty stars."

"I'm looking at you."

"I'd really prefer it,
if You just looked at
the sparkly stars."

[SMILE]

"SO? What about
ME, Lord?
What did'Ya do:
just get disgusted,
and toss me into
the dusty corner
of Your potting
shed?"

"What dust, child."

"Well, I assume
there's gotta be
some dust."

[SMILE.]

"I'm just a blob, Lord;
a big blobbule of
blumpy clay:
nothin' to speak of."

"I see.
And, have you
finished reading
Matthew, My child?"

"Huh?
Oh. Well.......I'm back
in the Old Testament, again,
Lord. I'm more comfortable,
There.
(silence)
What's this got to
do with my bein' a blob?"

[SMILE.]
"Because, My beloved,
I haven't finished
making you, yet."
