Who Am I?

My life is but a vapor and soon will pass away
Like a mere warm breath on a cold winter's day

I am the chief of sinners ~ saved only by His grace
I am not worthy to ever gaze upon His Holy face

I surely deserved death ~ He gave me life eternal
By His precious blood, I've escaped the fire infernal

I have no identity of my own, apart from Jesus Christ
I'm a servant to Him ~ I've been bought with a price

I have been redeemed! ~ by the blood of The Lamb
I was His predestined child, even before time began

On the day He carried my cross up Golgotha's hill
His thoughts were only of me and His Father's will

So I will take up my cross everyday to follow Him
To stay yielded to His Holy Spirit who lives within

I am a new creation in Christ! ~ a lost soul reborn
From a life that was shattered, tattered and torn

I am an heir of God, and of the royal priesthood!
I am a peculiar people, many times misunderstood

I have been adopted by God Himself into a family new!
I am loved by my Abba Father with a love that is so true

And I love my Father too with all my heart, soul and mind
I'm commanded to love my neighbor as myself, to be refined

My purpose is to be transformed into the image of Him
By renewing my mind daily, and confessing my sin

I have His commandment to Go and share His love story
To preach of the cross, of Him coming again in glory

I want the evidence of Christ to be visible by everyone!
So the love light shines through me, from the Holy Son

I will praise Him forever for His mercy and His grace!
My heart will not be troubled, for He's prepared a place

You see, my identity in Christ is not the action of what I do or say
Rather, its Who I Am inside ~ forever and every day

Who Am I? You may ask ~ and why do His praises I sing?
I am His alone ~ I am a precious child of the King!
