THIS THING CALLED LOVE


What is love really?
A dictionary meaning says `A GREAT FONDNESS FOR A PERSON OR THING´
Isn’t it ironic that this word is used so often very casually, truly, in hypocrisy or in an outright lie?
This exists in various forms in various relationships
From parent to child and vice-visa, between siblings, between family members, husband and wife, between two people who are betrothed and so on
How then is it that despite this well defined role love is not experienced nor displayed in its full sense and form?
How is it that two people who are in love one minute can suddenly become bitter enemies till the day they die? Even when both hear preachings, they are adamant and remain rigid on the point.

The word of God describes love in its utmost and purest sense—Gospel according to John chapter 15 verse 13---GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.

God never fails in His word when we act according to His word, we must learn to ask Him to direct us in His ways
For so long man has always tried to act according to his intellect because the Almighty endowed us with so much; but we forget that He who apportions wisdom is the one who can help us apply it properly and well
Man is full of so many character traits amongst which are emotions and these can sometimes ,deeply overwhelm
A man´s emotions can either rule him or he decides to be in charge
Displaying emotions in reckless abandon can derail a man and totally destroy him
Many are the emotions of man; anger, pride, jealousy, envy, prejudice, feelings of superiority and display of `love´, these are just but a few.
Love is the ultimate and love in the real sense, that is,love from the biblical angle (1Corinthians 13:1-8, 13)
Is deeper than has been practised by man for so long.
The book of songs-of-Solomon from beginning to end describes one who is in deep appreciation of another but must importantly is the love that was displayed on Calvary’s cross for all mankind, love that showed no partiality, no prejudice, no boundaries or favour of any kind just plain simple but pure LOVE

We are all urged to follow the supreme example of our creator who paid a price for what he did not do wrong only to prevent us all from perishing in eternal death
How awesome! He teaches in the whole of the bible about love for one another, about forgiveness, about peace and living in harmonious bliss

Matthew 5:38-48 is a perfect example of how He expects us to live, sometimes it can be so tough because it seems CERTAIN people make it difficult for you to love them but if we sincerely love our maker and want to always please Him in obedience, THEN IT BECOMES SOOOOOOOO EASY!
