We Don't Really Have To Know Why

One of the most difficult problems I face in my Christian walk is letting go of my worries...letting go of the image I have of how my life should go, and letting God direct my path and my future. I have alot of Thomas in me, in that, even though I have seen God work miraculous things in my life...have seen Him bring me through many things, and have seen Him turn situations around for the better, I still, in my human weakness, feel as though I have struggle through life and its problems on my own .I feel as if I have to "see to believe", just as Thomas did.

One man who was an exemplary pillar of total faith and trust in God was, of course Job...I refer to Him often when I am talking about faith because his faith was so extremely tested, yet he endured it with the thought always that God knew better than He did and he came out at the light at the end of the long dark tunnels stronger for it all...

In Job 1:1 we see that as Job struggled to understand why all this was happening to him, it became clear that he was not meant to know the reasons. he would have to face life with the answers and explanations held back, only then would his faith fully develop. We m must experience life as Job did-one day at a time and without complete answers to all pf life's questions. Will we, like Job, trust God no matter what? Or will we give in to the temptation to say that God doesn't really care?

God does care about me, He does care about you. When we become Christians it doesn't mean that we will never have troubles, will never have worries or hard things happen...just the opposite occurs. When we become a Christian, these things are harder because satan tries even harder to be a stumbling block between us and our relationship with God...God knows that if we had it good all the time we would have no need of faith in Him...He wants to be the source of our strength to live...He wants to be the haven in the storms of life for us...

Often, people use problems in life as ammunition in their argument against Christianity and even in the existence of God Himself..."If there were a God He wouldn't allow all this misery." God never promised us anywhere in the Bible that we wouldn't have struggles...He said just the opposite...that there would be struggles, but that He would help us through them and our faith would be made stronger because of it...

Please pray for me as I will pray for all of you that we be able to trust and to lean on God a little more than yesterday.

Love you all,
Lori

"Since I know it is all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

2 Corinthians 12:10
