Everyday is Christmas.

In my heart everyday is Christmas
Christmas is the day set aside to celebrate the day that Jesus Christ was born
We are to carry Jesus with us wherever we go
That way people will always know
That Jesus is the only reason for the season.

Alas over the years
I have watch with sadness and tears
How children rip open their many presents
Looking all the while for more

I asked one child what did Christmas mean to her
She said, “ lots of presents”
What about Jesus I asked,
She looked at me and said who is Jesus?

I told her the story of how He died and rose for us
She looked with bright eyes and wanted to know more
The more I told her, the more she wanted to know,
Her parents walked in and wanted to know why their baby girl
Wasn’t finish opening all her gifts?
She looked at them and said, Mommy and daddy why didn’t you
Tell me about the greatest gift of All.
His name is Jesus Christ and without Him there wouldn’t be any Christmas.

They were stunned for they two had never heard the story
As I began to share with them, their daughter recited.

“Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior
Was born in a manager
To keep us from danger
Over two thousand years ago,
December 25th is the day that has been given
To celebrate our wonderful savior
Everyday should be a celebration, not just once a year
Jesus is always near
He never leaves nor forsakes us
Christmas is not about how many presents you will get
Christmas is about Jesus, our savior
Without Him we would all be loss and without favor
Jesus is the reason for the season.”

From a child’s heart I say to everyone listening or reading this today,

Let everyday be Christmas
It starts with you
Invite Jesus into your heart
And you will have a brand new Start
Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life.

Merry Christmas to you today and everyday.
Everyday is Christmas.
