I sing a song of puppy dogs and butterflies, and other models of love and beauty all around us all the time, as harbingers of God's love. All of the marvelous creation in our universe tells us that God loves us. Puppies wag their tails joyously and butterflies glide about on lovely gossamer wings. Why else would they be there if it's not a love note from God? What other message could they be conveying, if not that one? And to whom, if not to us? Sunshine and rain, blue skies and rainbows, all speak so eloquently of love, joy, peace, constancy and promise: no questions, no doubts. Just a reminder from our Creator to be all we can be toward conforming to His image, and treasuring every minute of life regardless of our circumstances.
