One was morning
and one was night.
One was black.
and one was white.

She was his morning,
and he her night.
She loved his darkness
and he her light.

To enter morning
and exit night.
The night time lover
would dim his light.

And in the day
his morning knew.
She’d find his kisses
in her dew.

She chased her lover
all through the night.
Trying to love him
with her light.

Their Shadows danced
and their shadows played.
They danced all night
and into day.

And as the evening stars,
all took flight.
The jealous moon
would guard their night.

If you asked the Moon,
what would he say.
That eternal love
is just one day.
