PLEASE DON’T CALL ME RELIGIOUS!
I personally don’t like or appreciate being referred to as a Religious Person. There is a big difference between a Religious Person and a person who has a hunger and thirst and passion for God. A person who has a passion for God is a Spiritual Person. A Spiritual Person does not just go to church to be going or to appear Holy! A Spiritual Person goes to church because they love God. A Spiritual Person wants to be in the presence of God and craves to be in the presence of God. A Spiritual Person wants to serve in the church and be a blessing to others in any way they can. A spiritual person does not care if what they do in church is recognized by men because they are doing it as unto the Lord not as unto Men.
A Spiritual Person does not have to sit in the front row of the church in order to feel important. A spiritual person does not desire to be recognized if they give a lot of money to the church. A spiritual person’s eyes are on God and they are dedicated to doing only what pleases God. A spiritual person may live in another whole town all together and still drive for hours and hours to get to the place God has assigned them to be a part of. A spiritual person will go out of their way to give another Saint a ride home. A spiritual person will pray for another Saint and not put the persons business all through the church. A spiritual person will go without themselves to help another person in need.
But mainly and most importantly Spiritual People live Holy everyday not just on Sunday! Spiritual people walk with a God Conscious mentality, they know Father God is watching at all times. So they do right in front of people and behind closed doors they have nothing to hide. On the flipside a Religious Person feels they have done God a big service because they show up in church on Sunday. A Religious person will fornicate, lie, gossip and do whatever and not really be convicted by their sin. A Religious person will give a big offering but only for the purpose of being recognized. A Religious person wants praise for everything they do in the church. A Religious person wants the service to go just the way the program says. The Holy Spirit better not dare to try and come and disrupt the Religious person’s program! A Religious Person will show Jesus and the Holy Spirit the door to make sure service ends on time, cause they have to stick to the program.
A Religious person does not want anyone going thru deliverance in their services, no coughing! No gagging! No vomiting! Are you crazy? Just sing two fast songs and one slow song and take the offering, have a half hour message and let them out the door!
So call me a Believer, call me a Christian, but please don’t call me Religious!

This is excellent! I don't want to be called religious either. I'm not sure I want to be called Christian these days either, because of all the negative connotations associated with that title. I prefer to be called a Christ follower. I'm okay with Jesus freak, for what a wonderful way to use that term 'freak'. I want to be like Him. Excellent, excellent work! Beth
This is a great article. It explains the difference between a religious person and a christian and says int in a very easily understandable way.
