I run this race with patience
The word of GOD helps me endure
While Holy Spirit calls me higher
I run anxiously with long gracious strides

I started running a long time ago
My goal was unsure
But at the end I knew that was a reward
I had no focus on where to run
And which way to go

Because of my lack of direction,
My breaths became weak and my steps short
I began to grow weary and faint.
Then I heard a voice form Heaven
Saying, “Run this course I designed for you
It’s not too late.”

Sometimes the echoing distracts me
Boos from of spectators. Those who don’t
Want me to make it. My spirit is revived within
Me as I see the Father’s Holy angles cheering me
On in the crowd, telling me “Go on you can take
It.”

So steadied my focus on this new road.
Hurtling over the enemy’s traps and letting
The wind beat against my back and the
Crown of Glory in my sight,
Once I see the Savior arms welcoming
Me, I know the sweat, tears and pain
Was worth the fight.

Always endure hardness as a good
Soldier and remember the prize is
Not given to the swift nor the strong
Check the soles of your running shoes
And the tread of salvation stays safe,
Keep moving forward and keep moving
On.
