Spiritual Things Realized
Are They in Your Possession

In St. John 4:24 Jesus says God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth

Romans 8:6, to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost

Jesus adoringly talked to the woman at the well very specifically told her about true worship. She was not to worship as her fathers did while they worshipped in ignorance, but she was faced with the truth himself. Jesus the Word was speaking and the Word only speaks of the Father, and everything associated with the Father is spiritual, which means it possesses spirituality. Spirituality is the state of being spiritual, of being a spiritual character, spiritual mindedness. It consisted of spiritual and not material things but incorporeal things. The spiritual is distinguishable from the natural. Spiritual means that one has been refined from evil things and is not sensual. It pertains to the spiritual state that brings purity of thought, mind and heart, controlled and inspired by the divine spirit which comes in and indwells in man. The source of spiritual gifts in God’s grace and the agency of operation he employs is the Holy Spirit. It also insures one of the strength to overcome the corrupting influence of carnal mindedness.

Spiritual mindedness is that disposition and resolution implanted in the mind by the Holy Spirit through which one willingly and gladly inclines to love, delight in, and to attend spiritual things. The spirit minded person highly appreciate spiritual blessings; to pursue spiritual objections; to be led by spiritual motives and in all respects to allow the temple of the purified heart to control and direct his life. The reward is spiritual joy and a life of good report.

A spirit minded person therefore is influenced by the Holy Ghost and everything in their lives is determined by the spirit and what the Word of God says about the situation they are in at that time. Their state of mind is to run to the Lord, to the Word, to Spiritual Counsel, good spiritual counsel. They realize what is great and enduring and that it is not of this world. Also they acquire a true love and devotion to God that brings about peace in their lives. They are indifferent to worldly good, but have a taste for heavenly things. The kingdom of Heaven is spiritual and unworldly in nature was Jesus’ teaching to the New Covenant Church, supernatural and heavenly in its origin, powers, blessings, aims and ends; a kingdom free alike from national and ceremonial limitation, working by its own laws and destined in the end to embrace all people. It is both universal and everlasting. Christ came in the flesh to reveal it fully to men; in the Spirit to guide and maintain it and will come in glory to perfect it.

According to Paul in Romans 14:17 it must be realized that the Kingdom of Heaven is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. To obtain the righteousness, joy and peace one must see the world for what it is, just a dwelling place for the spiritual dwellings of God to dwell. How can one have a spiritual nature without the indwelling of the Holy Ghost which is what in the creation empowered man to become a living soul? One must have zeal, be diligent in their efforts and not be blind or ignorant to Satan’s devices leading them off to a world of divination. They must choose today who they will serve God or Mammon, be consumed with finding out who they are and why were they place in this world, their God ordained purpose; set out to obtain a perfect heart with the Lord, grab hold to the fruit of righteousness, find themselves doing works that please God, and do it with all their might, and be the light that God called man to be in the earth. One also must realize that in all things that pertain to their lives that God must come first. Their first thought or action should be that of God, a spiritual reaction as opposed to responding as the world would. They are all about working the work of God that created man in the earth while it is day; for when the night comes no man can work. All dead men have left in the earth is dead dirt flesh and a memory of what they did while they were living.

The questions will always follow one to the grave, did they delight themselves in the Law of God after the inward man, did they let their light shine before men, were they that light that men could see God in, did they glorify the Father in Heaven; were they slothful in business, fervent in the spirit; serving the Lord; did they bestow their goods to feed the poor; did they have love, did they excel in the edifying of the church, and can they be approved of in Heaven?

If one is Spirit minded they realize that they are not of the same materials that their sister or brother may be made of but nevertheless they do not weary in their well doing for they also know that they will reap if they faint not. They will stand girt about with truth, wearing the breastplate of righteousness because they are quick to repent and maintain their Holy state of sanctification. Paul said it best in Ephesians 1:4, according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Ephesians 3:19, and to know the love of Christ which pass all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Spiritual things realized; are they in your possession?

This is the will of God that man would abstain from the things of the world, the fruits of unrighteousness possessing their bodies in sanctification and honor to God, for it is he that will do the holistic work in man until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After all it is he that from the beginning chose man to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

If a man would purge himself of worldly things he shall become a vessel of honor that God’s Spirit may come in and dwell, eventually ruling in their lives and God will be glorified and the offering that Jesus Christ through his body made to redeem man will be perfected forever in their lives.
