Gently and gracefully
The Lord stretches his hand down
From the heavens,
Reaching down for the ones
He so dearly loves,
Watching as they slowly parish
Withering away
Devoured by their sin.
He reaches down
To the soft precious ones
Dying so graceful,
With the love of his presence
Radiating from their face.
He reaches down
Covering those he loves
Allowing them to suffer
Enough to know
He’s the Lord.
Gently and gracefully
The lord stretches his hand down
From the heavens,
Awaiting for you
To reach up to the heavens,
Grasping his fingertips
Knowing your long suffering
Will be no more.
