The Lesson

In a moment things can change
Before I knew it along came the tears and pain
The hurt welled up from deep inside
There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide

As the hurt continued I began to feel cold
Despair set in and I desperately looked for something to hold
But there was no one there, not one person around
Through the darkness, loneliness pierced my soul without a sound

As the pain and sorrow began to intensify
The enemy snuck in and spoke his lie
“Your no good” he spoke to me
No one wants you. Don’t you see?”

“Who cares about what they might say
God doesn’t care about you anyway
Come on lets go get that drink
Who cares what they might think”

Then a voice bursts in “My child do not listen to one word
The evil one will surely pierce you with his sword
Come my child come onto me
Humble yourself and receive my mercy”

“Be still my child be still and hear
Be still my child and know I care
For I have not forsaken you
I only stepped back to see what you would do
Its time for you to make a choice
Follow him or listen to My voice”

So I knelt down and wept alone
Then Jesus came down off His throne
He knelt down by my side
He caught every tear as I cried
With His warm sweet presence He kissed my face
Then He gently wrapped me in His embrace

Then He lifted me up off of my knees
He then said, ”Where is your accuser Where is he?
When you knelt and submitted to me, he had to run he had to flee
So when darkness comes and you begin to question
Remember this day my child as a lesson
Remember you can always cry out to me
Remember that the enemy will always flee.”
