CHILD OF MINE

Oh, child of mine
How can it be
That you're in prison doing time
So far away from me.

I tried to reach you
But you couldn't see
There you are sad and blue,
Still not believing in me.

Open your eyes and look around,
Is this the life you wish to lead ?
Or would you like to be heaven-bound
As on my love you feed.

I've loved you from the start
I'll love you till the end
I want to be in your heart
I want to be your friend.

All you have to do is believe in me
But it has to come from your heart
A better life you can lead
And this is only the start.

I will turn your life around,
I will make you brand new
A better friend can not be found
And I have so much love for you.

I'll stay with you forevermore
open your heart and let me in,
And I'll never close my hearts door
You'll be happier then you'v ever been
.
