Want to drop and give this up;
To fall and never stand?
What is the reason for the cup
That you hold in your hand?

See the wine, in it, so red,
Given by One who’s blessed;
In joy, for You, He had bled,
To bring about your rest;

But you’ve lost that rest you found,
Or that He found for you;
In heaven, it rings a brassy sound;
So sour and so untrue;

So here’s the answer: don’t you stop,
Unless it’s He who stops you,
You’ve confessed Him Lord and God;
You have been renewed;

And that good rest; it’s still there,
Like wings upon your back;
Just turn around, if you dare;
It’s grace that you don’t lack;

You’ll turn around, you will see
A face all too familiar;
The Son o’ God; the Father’s Plea;
The One who’s always there.
