The Vine

I was just standing there
when I saw a Vine.
It went all the way up
into the sky.

With no Beginning
or no End,
it seemed as familiar
as an old Friend.

Since I wasn't doing anything
I thought I'd give it a try.
I grabbed a hold of it
and started to fly.

It took me to places
several stories high.
A whole new perspective
I saw from the sky.

I felt like Spiderman or Tarzan
but it was just me.
I felt more alive
than I thought I'd ever be.

There was a crowd
concerned for me.
Saying "I could break something
flying that free."

But now I see the Vine Dresser
is in control of everything.
It may seem that I may crash,
but the Vine Dresser intervenes.

I want to stay attached
and become a branch.
This is a risk
I want to chance.

When the Vine says go
I want to flow.
So far it's the best ride
I've ever known.
