There are many family's who have a pet cat or two. Although these furry little friends are a joy to have , there are many things that are not so enjoyable that comes with the territory of caring for them.

I have found out by experience and by accident
how to detour cats from one particular behavior
called scratching.

First, let me tell you about the procedure
" de-clawing ." This procedure should be outlawed
completely. It is a procedure that actually involves the amputation of the first digits of your cat's toes. Most people innocently take their cats to have this done not knowing what this procedure is about. The cats suffer tremendous pain and can develop life long, mental side effects from such treatment.

If you or someone you know are planning to have this done to your cat, don't!

There is a much simpler way that will save your
cat and your furniture.

You can purchase a claw cutting device that is made to trim your cats claws safely and is pain free. It can be found at Walmart in the pet section.

All you need to do is trim your cat's front feet.
You want to trim them as short as possible without hurting their toes. Make sure you have good lighting so you can see where you are cutting.This will need to be done on a frequent
basis to keep them from clawing the furniture and you.

This simple and pain free procedure has cured my woes of having precious home furnishings shredded. Just in one night my nightmare ended.

How did I come up with this idea? I was buying
toys at Walmart for my "sweety pies" and I saw
the cat claw cutters hanging in front of me.
It was a prayer answered!

My cats continue to scratch the furniture, my
legs, and carpet. It certainly is a funny sight
watching the expressions on their faces when they
realize they can't scratch anything. They go through the motion of scratching without the actual scratching.
