I woke this morning to find my computer frozen,
a blank wall, windows shut, a locked door,
and I had to shut it down and start it again,
going back a day with system restore.

But now the offending 'windows update'
is still waiting for me to put in,
and the minute I do, I'll be back in the same boat,
it seems that sometimes you just can't win.

It reminded me so of how God found me,
that blank wall, my windows shut, the locked door,
but this one time, I heard the soft, gentle knock,
and said yes to His 'system restore'.

He took all the bad parts, the sin and the shame,
and he swept them out, even more, He threw them away,
and in their place put His love and His grace,
and showed me life in a brand new way.

I was no longer trapped, I had Jesus in the lead,
He would show me the right things to learn and do,
and when He thought I was ready for the next loving step,
He brought me to a new place - and to you!

He knew just what the desire of my heart had been,
and my happiness was important to Him,
and so He gave me a new heart to give it away,
and receive love back that would never dim.

There was only one person who would be exactly right,
only one whose love would be deep and true,
and I had to trust that God would find him for me,
and oh, He did, and now look! I love you!

You bring me joy every hour of the day,
everything about you is so dear to me,
Every day I give thanks and praise to my Jesus,
for in Him we could no happier be!

I am so glad that there was that one day,
when Jesus did for me that 'system restore'
for now I have Him as my Savior,
and you, my husband whom I adore!
