The joys all here, though all from Me,
Are fleeting cheer, and all will leave;
Your life, dear one, is not your own,
As the earth, for Me, was not My home;
I was not led by what I saw,
But Father, instead, rememb’ring His awe;

I may test your precious heart;
That you’d be blest, as you depart
What you embrace and hold so dear
More than My face or voice you hear;

Whoever leaves houses, family, or friends,
For love of My voice, when I command,
Will have from Me, from time untold,
Beside eternal life, a hundredfold;
And with the call, the grace to abide,
For your strength’s found at My side,
Where You’ll feel Me lift you up,
Just take up My healing cup;

The grief you feel; replaced with mirth,
Leaving the loves of this earth;
So when your ache leads to doubt
I am beckoning, with kinder shout;
That grip you feel upon your heart
Your Bridegroom calling, “Let us depart.”

Author's Note:
This is for a sister who feels led to move away from all that is near and dear to her, including very dear relationships. This write was inspired from a journal entry she shared with me. Even the first few words of it blew me away.

This verse is the heart of what she believes she is being led by the Lord to make this move:
“I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.”--Jeremiah 10:23

This was a verse I felt was related to her obedience:
“So Jesus said to them, ‘Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.’”—Matthew 19:28-30
