A Perfect Life

I know the only perfect living I can ever do
Will be because I’m hidden in the holiness of You;
But, if I could exist alone and live a perfect way,
When sunset comes and I wake up to live that endless day...

I’D GIVE A PERFECT LIFE TO YOU;
I’D SHOW YOU BLEST IN ALL I DO;
SUCH A GLORIOUS GIFT WITHOUT A MAR -
YOU’D SEE IT SHINE FROM NEAR OR FAR -
OH, I’D LOVE TO GIVE A SPOTLESS LIFE TO YOU...
BUT IT’S SOMETHING I KNOW I COULD NEVER DO...

So, early on, from childhood days, I learned to praise and sing;
I heard about the lambs that made atonement to the King;
Then I saw upon a barren hill, the cross of Calvary -
There I saw the only Lamb that could hide my misery....

SO NOW I GIVE A PERFECT LIFE TO YOU;
THE OFFERING FROM A SELF MADE NEW;
WHEN THAT CRIMSON FLOW FELL O’ER ME LIKE A FLOOD -
I DON’T UNDERSTAND PURE WHITE FROM DEEP, RED BLOOD -
BUT I LOVE TO GIVE A SPOTLESS LIFE TO YOU!
AND IT’S MINE TO OFFER - MINE TO BE - BRAND NEW!
BECAUSE I’M HIDDEN IN YOUR GIFT OF LOVE -
HIDDEN DEEP WITHIN YOUR HEART’S STRONG CRIMSON BLOOD...

The blood that Jesus shed for me...Way back on Calvary,
The blood that gives me strength, from day to day,
It will never lose its power...
