Warriors

We sang Your song and carried high
Your vibrant Anthems to the sky;
We dodged the arrows, darts and spears;
We followed on for many years.
Each day was glorious with You so near,
Your voice spoke softly in our ears,
When one would fall, his spot was filled
With another heart You also thrilled.

We’re growing old, a feeble few ~
Surprised we still can march for You.
Our comrades fill the ranks with more
All imaging that distant shore.
There fiery darts cannot break through
Nor distract any thing You do.
And maybe we can join the throng
That cheers our fellow warriors on.
