Another Day

Just the ending of another day, I thought.
Yet as I lay my head down to rest
my thoughts go to the father who made this day possible.
Nothing remarkable has happened for me today, it seems.
Nothing that I can see,
No big plan of the Father took root in me, I thought.
Oh but what we don’t see unfolding from his hand,
All the little details of his plan coming together
That he keeps from our view until the unveiling
Of his finished work for each plan he has for us.
As we thank him for the day
He smiles, knowing of the excitement he awaits
To plant on our faces,
while he works even harder each day after,
With much more determination to see his plan unfold
Before our eyes, knowing the joy we will feel
And the praise he will receive
When he finally sees us open his plan
And step into what he’s prepared for us.
Just another day for us,
But Oh for the Father, much work he has done
Preparing our way,
Just because we are thankful.
So as I close my eyes I focus on his face
And rest in his Grace
While he prepares for my tomorrow.
For what I didn’t see today
Must be on it’s way,
And I’m ready to arise with the morning light
For he will begin in me another brand new day.
