Silent is the golden sun that rises each new day.
Silently it gilds the world with glowing golden ray.

Silent is the rainbowed arc that reaches round the sky.
Silently it symbolizes promise from on high.

Silent is the giant oak from tiny acorn growing.
Silent is the moaning wind that suddenly stopped blowing.

Silent is the fragrant flower that blooms in early spring.
Silently the blossom dies from early winter’s sting.

Silent is the snow that seeps into the new-cut grave.
Silenced is the voice of one no earthly power could save.

Silent is the clinging vine that climbs the weathered stone.
Silently the vine entwines to claim the stone its own.

Silent is the shadow that around the house comes creeping.
Silent children tired from play inside the house are sleeping.

Silent is the spider as he weaves a lethal net.
Silent death inside the net a little fly has met.

Silent is the cunning cat that stalks the singing bird.
Silently its song is vanquished never to be heard.

Silent is the antlered elk that waits by riverside.
Silent are the hunters there who also wait and hide.

Silent is the brilliant moon that brightens darkest night.
Silent is the ocean’s face reflecting shining light.

Silent is the love of God o’er all creation streaming.
Silently I bow my head in praise for His redeeming.
