Waterfall
(A Collaboration by Trish Thompson and Joyce Pool)

In the midst of trials and turmoil
that we must surely all endure,
flows a River from God's own throne,
a waterfall blessed and pure.

I kneel here beneath the waterfall
and cry, "Let it rain down on me!"
First, trickling drops become a brook.
Then, a Living River breaks free.

It runs over the rocks of trouble,
creating pools of peace so true,
still, cool water that soothes the soul.
All that it touches is made new.

I don’t ask Him to remove the rocks
or to make them disappear.
Currents smooth them to stepping stones,
heavenly music to my ears.

I plunge my hands deep in the water,
and laugh as the waves splash my face,
Can't resist God’s invitation
to be swept away in His grace.

All along the sacred River’s banks,
new Life springs up glorious green.
The Tree of Life, with healing leaves
shades and lovingly covers me.

Sometimes, I simply sit on the bank,
soak my feet and bask in the Son,
peacefully resting on the shore,
until my Father bids me “Run!”

“Run to the darkness! Carry My Light!
Call them out to the waterfall,
where healing awaits the broken.
My grace is sufficient for all.”

Come one and all to the waterfall.
Sit secure on the still pools’ shore,
where you can lay your burdens down,
receive forgiveness and much more.

Lay down your sadness and pick up joy,
a full life that is made brand new.
Dance to the music from heaven,
a melody so sweet and true.

Dance beneath the blessed waterfall,
let its rain wash away the past,
where the Word and the Son are one,
and be free in the Lord at last,

where blessings fall with every drop,
shaken down and pressed together,
overflowing from Heaven’s throne,
baptized in God's grace forever.

Dear Treava and Trish...Yes, I could also feel the soothing water flowing over me, healing my brokenness and all my spiritual wounds. A word that came to my mind reading this was 'release' - leave your pains and worries behind and allow yourself to be refreshed and healed! Reading this, one feels the tenseness leave their bodies as God's peace enters in. Thank you both for inspiring us! Love, Peggy
