Trusting In The Lord

Lord we are living in a day and age when everything seems unpredictable. It seems there just isn’t a guarantee when it comes to anything. Often times I have found that the “control button” which I have depended on to put me in all the right arenas and take me out of all the wrong ones, doesn’t always do its job. I have found that I don’t always know what’s best and even when I think I do, I have been proven wrong. I have stopped blaming myself, thinking I'm naïve and rather admit that can't tell the outcome of every situation in my life, I have a loving Father who can.
Proverbs 3 vs 5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your paths.”
That is my prayer today. Just for the simple faith to trust you. To rely upon your goodness even when those who I have trusted the most in my life have let me down, when my own feelings have let me down and I feel I am falling. Come Lord at that moment and extend your hand, gently clean my bruises and help me to be brave enough to keep going forward, holding your hand as you guide me.
Although you have given me many talents and wisdom in situations, let me not lean on my own understanding but rather on yours. You truly are a God that knows deepest intents of every heart and what we need even before we ask.
Though we live in a world where everything seems tangible, remind me that you are a solid rock , a sure foundation that doesn’t crack beneath my feet. You aren’t shaken by my trials and even the most violent storm doesn’t penetrate you. You are always faithful, always loving and always true and in my weakness your strength is manifested.
Yes Lord, when everything else fails us, we can be sure that you aren’t moved by our circumstance but by our faithfulness and our willingness to Trust you, especially during times when we find it hardest to do so. Then we truly see your hand of compassion extended.
