Many souls sincerely cried. The silent lamentation coupled with the acknowledgement of a state of hopelessness and injustice spread the cloud of sorrow particularly over that entire continent. A Negress picked up her darling son and wailed. “My dear son! Have a last look at the man who gave his life for you and me.” She sobbed profusely and those surrounding her also wept. People were utterly shaken. They ran helter skelter when their beloved father, leader and a wonderful statesman was assassinated. Everyone literally became dumb because sorrow suffocated their souls so much so as is evident in such a gloomy hour. It happened in the year 1865 when Lincoln the then President of United States was shot dead. Yet, in this chaotic condition, a man spoke as follows. “God Reigns”. Today, perhaps you are disappointed over many things. You may say, “Suicide seems more satisfying than the anticipation of another day.” Just whisper “God Reigns” Surely He will manifest His glory in your life.
