A price was paid for you dear child, a price so very dear
Listen closely to my words dear child as I draw you very near
It was to a lowly stable that I came that very Holy night
The angels rejoiced and the Father smiled at the very Holy sight
For he knew this was the way that man would come to Him
And He knew that I would one day save His people from their sins
I grew in Him and learned His ways and confounded the very wise
I walked with Him and talked with Him and found favor in His eyes
I broke traditions and angered men by speaking the Truth in love
But I was there to please only One, the heavenly Father above
The day, it came where men rose up and because of that tradition –
They gathered men together and offered a petition
To crucify the Son of Man so they could continue in their ways
And that dear child is what is meant by the price that I did pay
They beat me and nailed me to a cross for all to see
But what they didn’t know is that I was setting the captives free
The sin of man was cast upon me as the Father turned away
And the earth did quake and the sun did set – ending that fateful day
The took my body and placed me in a borrowed tomb
The symbol of the re-birth to come like a mother’s precious womb
And as the third day approached dear child the air was electrified
The Glory of the Lord shone down and the heavens opened wide
And if nothing else you hear dear child listen to now what I say
For because the Father did raise me – I defeated death and hell on that day!
For no one took my life from me – I willingly laid it down
And because of the price, the holy price, you will one day wear a crown
