Why Salvation Does Not Always Result in Faith based Social Reform

Salvation is incredible, it is a turning point, a transformation, an exchange of life, father and interest. It is life changing in that we have changed our life source from one of death and self-ishness for one of eternal life and God-liness.Through salvation addictions can be broken, hearts changed and lives renewed, forgiveness given and redemption recieved.

Unfortunately, many of the most evangelized nations are also the poorest and the most riddled with disease and mismanagement. I am talking primarily of my native continent of Africa. We are so proud of our missionary accomplishments in this nation, and yet what has transpired is a lack of social and political transformation...why is this? Have we missed something of our responsibility to not only evangelize but in equal measure to disciple?....

Salvation is holistic, God redeems your spirit at salvation, by placing Christ in you, He redeems your mind, will and emotions by the renewing of the Holy Spirit acting on your soul, and He will renew your finite body for an everlasting one for eternity.God wants to save us to the uttermost, and I believe that all things were made by God and without God nothing would be made at all.

To think that God would create and not have any purpose in His creation is to say that God has wound us up and let us go, with not a care for our wellbeing... this is plainly not the case as God is intimately involved in your life and in the salvation of your whole being, there is nothing God has left out in bringing your salvation to completion in Christ. All things were created by God and for God, and all things were placed under God. He has ultimate responsibility, but He has given us dominion over creation to govern and tend to the garden of this world.

The work of man is to praise God and tell of His plan of redemption, as well as to be a catalyst through the body of Christ to seek God's heart in all that we do and whoever we come in contact with.If all things were created by God and for God then there is nothing in this world that God does not want to touch with Christ in us.If we never think about reforming society, we are keeping the true full extent of God's salvation to ourselves. God's salvation was given to enable you to be salt and light in society as well as to preach and teach in the church.

The majority of Christians are not clergy, most of us live in the world that God has created, we have normal jobs and vocations, we watch sport, listen to music, read the newspaper, we are normal christians who can transform our work places and social environments by realizing one thing...That salvation is being worked out of us as well as in us.

The God of Creation lives in us and He has given us faith to believe that we are more than conquerors in Christ and over the world. How can we take active steps to impact our world and share the goodness of God with those who don't understand that God is Lord of All? We can do this by realising that God gave us eternal life so that we can share it with others right here and now.We are seated with Christ, but with our feet firmly grounded on terrra firma. But this is precisely where heaven can touch and affect the earth. Not to create utopia but at least to create light that will have far reaching effects in politics and humanitarian relief for a start.

I think that was how Jesus was, He was never pious, or out of touch, and He always had dirty hands and feet. He was as much an affront to the world in His life as in His death, I think that we should not be waiting for our death in order to live out our faith to it's greatest extent, What do you think would happen if we started now?!!!

Heaven will be a safe place for us in that we will know God's heart and live out His purposes in and for our life. God has given us practical principles in the running of society in the Old testamnet and in the New. The stories of Israel are historic accounts of Fatherhood and discipline in raising a nation. We have Christ in us and heaven in our hearts and a world that is dying for love in practical application. All it takes is for us to be convinced that God is Lord of All, not just of the church and the clergy! After that we won't shrink back from affirming or confronting the world with Christ in the most unlikely places.
