Job was truly a godly man
To whom God had a plan
When Satan put him to the test
Would he curse God or in Him rest?

He responded in worship and blessed God
For He was with him on the road he trod
His losses and physical suffering were great
God had lessons for him to learn at any rate

His three friends tried to give him advice
What they said to him would never suffice
They didn’t lift him up, but made it worse
Still Job never gave in, nor did he curse

If someone you know is hurting today,
Just be there and listen to what they say
Pray, asking the Spirit to direct you
He will then show you what to do

A true friend will weep with you when you weep
They will embrace you with God’s love so deep
They will not overlook the hurt you feel inside
But will support you and stand by your side
