“Dear God, thank you for this day and for all of your wonderful blessings. I ask for your help in….uh what? What did you say Lord? Yes, of course I remember how hacked off I am at Amy. You heard what she said to me! Of all the nerve! Excuse me? Well, I know we’ve been friends forever. Yeah, I know she kids around all the time, but... No, no she hasn’t ever really done anything mean to me…but God, she went too dang far this time! She embarrassed me. I was telling her my ideas about how we could structure the cookie sales this year and she broke in and actually said, ‘ Gail, you’re such a dork sometimes, I don’t know how you’ve gotten through life this far!’ And she was laughing when she said it! Now, I know she usually has better ideas than I do, but really! Oh, come on God, you’ve gotta admit that was rude! I shouldn’t have to take that from her or anyone else! Her motives? What do you mean? How would I know what the heck she was thinking? I’m not you! What? She was just teasing me? Are you sure? Sure didn’t sound that way to me…. Well, now that you mention it, she did seem to feel bad about it. I mean, she apologized about 10 times but I was too mad to listen. No, I haven’t heard from her since then. I wouldn’t have answered the phone if I knew it was her calling anyway. What? What do you mean you’re having trouble hearing me? You’re God for crying out loud! Wait a minute; I can’t hardly hear you either. What’s going on? Excuse me, can you repeat that? I didn’t catch it. You can’t forgive my sins if I don’t forgive and make up with her? Is that why we can’t hear each other? It feels like everything I’m saying is bouncing off the ceiling. God, I don’t like this! I need you! I’m sorry! Ok, ok, I get the message. You won’t listen to my prayers if I won’t listen and accept her apology. Yeah, I remember. Seventy times seven. Got it. Thanks Lord for reminding me. I’ll be back in a few minutes; I’ve got a phone call to make.”
