The factory was large and it’s noises deafening.

She watched in anguish as she saw her baby ground into a fine powder like substance then mixed in with women’s cosmetics.

“No! No! My baby!” she screamed. “No!”

Elaine’s shrieking broke her from her nightmare and she found herself sitting up in bed, drenched with sweat.

Bursting into tears she wrapped her arms about her legs and laid her forehead on her knees.

“Oh my God!” she sobbed, her words sounding like a groan and a scream combined. “Oh! Why did I do it? Why did I kill you, my precious, innocent baby?!”

Weeping, she could clearly remember her abortion like it was yesterday though a whole year had passed.

She recalled the night after the extermination of the fetus from her womb. It was a night she would never forget.

She had come home and cried until she had no more tears left. Drained, she sat in a dazed, shocked grief. Her heart heavy but strangely numb.

Suddenly the room grew pitch black and she saw herself standing out amid the darkness looking down at her baby lying dead in a pool of blood at her feet.

The vision faded but only to be replaced with another. A sea stretched out before her as far as she could see - thousands upon thousands of babies, all dead, floating in their own blood.

As she stood, looking out over this scene, a man joined her and feeling His presence she turned to look at Him. His face caught her gaze and she knew that this was no ordinary man.

His eyes turned from the sea of babies to her and then He looked down and her gaze followed His. In His arms was her baby sleeping peacefully. Then He looked back up and their eyes met.

Tears were streaming down His cheeks and He spoke in a soft, broken voice. “My dear Elaine. What have you done? Your baby’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”

Then His gaze turned back toward the sea of blood and she noticed her baby had vanished back out into the many before her.

Suddenly He lifted His hands out toward the babies as if to encircle them with His arms and draw them into a place of love and safety.

“O America, America! What have you done?” He cried out, weeping aloud. “What have you done? The blood of these innocent children are crying out to Me from the ground. I tell you, O America, your time is coming. For I will surely avenge them on you.”

Elaine was weeping, her head turned from the scene before her, slightly bowed.

The Man reached out and gently laid His hand on her shoulder.

“Elaine, let America know. Go in My Name and be a voice for these whose voices are not heard by human ears.”

Coming out of her reverie, Elaine slipped out of bed and stood, determined.

Looking up she said softly, “Lord, I’ve waited too long. I’ve chosen my grief over Your will this whole year. But Lord,” tears streamed down her face as she lifted her hands heavenward in surrender. “My waiting is over. I’m stepping out in obedience this moment. I will be a voice for them. You don’t ignore their voices crying out to You for justice to be done on their behalf, and I refuse to ignore their voices any longer. I will stand up and speak out for them.”

A beautiful light filled the room and Elaine slid to the floor and knelt on her knees while gazing upward.

From the light came a sweet and musical voice, “My daughter, go. Do not fear. I will be with You and I will touch the hearts of many. To those who listen I will open their HEARTS to hear the cries that their EARS cannot.”

Thus began the road to the healing of this nation that God weeps over.

America, will you hear their cries?
