Dad lowered our small boat into the lake as the sun peeked over the water. We troll-motored near some reeds and got busy. Dad knew how to pick a fishing spot! I caught sun perch one after the other. Most of the time Dad was stringing fish or baiting my hook. Ten years old, I was tomboy enough to love fishing but not enough to want to touch worms or scales. We returned to camp before noon with a passel of fish. Dad cleaned them while I watched, proud of our accomplishment and holding my nose.
Jesus is preparing hearts every day and guiding me to different fishing spots for souls. Sometimes other believers get to make the catch and see Daddy God clean them up, but I always love reeling smelly souls into God’s Kingdom. It brings me back.

I love being a fisherperson. :) Only I used to fish alone and cleaned them too. But you can be sure I wasn't the only one eating them. Ha! Takes me back too. In fact, I'm reminded of an article I once wrote about the art of casting. It isn't necessarily the prettiest cast that catches the most fish. And practice sure helps when it comes to "casting our cares" as well. Thank you for sharing!
