Revelation

I can’t believe it God -
That all I have to do is to
Be truly sorry, to “repent” -
To “believe” - to “accept” -
And You would give this
Wondrous gift - free!
I can’t believe!
That all of my blunders -
Large and small -
From petty annoyances,
To colossal devastation
That made me wish
I had never been -
Or could at least end
This insignificant, painful life,
Could all be swept away
In just a moment!
From an action of my heart!
That Your part is done,
Completed on Calvary!
I can’t believe this news!
I thought You were “busy”
With world shattering problems.
With nations, and wars;
With hideous crimes.
I can’t believe my everyday problems
Would interest you -
Be no bother at all.
Somehow God, I can’t comprehend
The real meaning of Omnipotence.
I can’t believe....but I did anyway,
The way I stepped from the high dive
When I was a child -
And the joy in my heart
Is Alive!
Never have I known this Joy!
You are truly there -
In the center core of my heart!
Bringing Life, Peace, Forgiveness -
Joy!
...When I remember -
Now that I see and know;
What I can’t believe
Is that anyone
Would hesitate!
