Marriage

I sat by the edge of a stream one day,
watching the water flowing by me,
no matter what obstacles were placed in its way,
the water went where it wanted to be.

If a rock was too large, it flowed right over,
went around if it was too high,
and tumbled the small rocks along in its path,
they could not have resisted if they'd tried.

It reminded me of the force of love,
the stream that from God ever flows,
and we can stand and let it go over us,
or we can ride along wherever it goes.

For so long I just did not see
what God had in store for me,
How Jesus could take my tangled up life,
and make it straight, set it free.

But oh, when I did, what a change that made,
He gave me new life and so much more,
He looked in my heart, and saw all my dreams,
and said, all of these will be yours.

He gave me joy when He gave me you,
Happiness flooded in,
and peace and wonder were always to be mine,
for nothing is impossible with Him.

Every day I wake with a prayer
of thanks for Him taking care of me,
and for all the blessings He pours out on my life,
for the love that has set me free.

I am filled with wonder as each day begins,
that I know that my dreams have come true,
for my world is lit with the glow of sheer joy,
for I got it all, when He gave me you.

Now I look for brand new ways,
words I can say, or something small I can do,
that will let you know every minute of the day,
how very much I LOVE YOU!!
