It is hard to comprehend how we have accepted the thinking, perceptions, and conclusions of those who came before us. Jesus brought a new thinking. We have now interpreted, studied, and conformed that thinking to the world’s system.
Basically, we have conformed the life of Christ to the world in order to explain it, understand it, and believe in it.
“Be ye not conformed to the world.” Too late. Jesus said “if I cannot tell you about earthly things and you believe, how can I tell you of heavenly things?
He would have the same question today. We have adjusted and conformed our thinking to factor in the life of Jesus as the catalyst of salvation and freedom.
How can God reveal more of Himself to us when we are so conformed to our “set in concrete” thinking that we are terrified of any possibility of wrong or unholy? How can God use any of us when we live in terror of the “devil”? How can God save us from our own self-righteous judgments, convinced as we are that we are so correct in our thinking that we attempt to destroy anyone who differs from us?
“Be alert, be present. I am about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” (Isaiah 43:19 The Message)
