I Corinth. 13:12-"For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part but then shall I know even as also I am known".

II Corinth. 4:18-"while we look not on the things which are seen but on the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal".

Eternity's Gate

One day perfect peace will come to me when I step into Your presence,
And reach eternity's gate and whatever runs through my mind today,
Will lose itself and fly away,
To the whisper of heaven stilling my spirit for eternity.
What burdens me today will be forgotten once the blinding light
Of eternity with You becomes my reality.
The ashes of yesterday will lose their hold on my memory,
As all I see before me are Your arms reaching out to encircle me.

Reality will come true and today will be long past,
And the tears of today will be shut away never to be re-visited.
My face will turn upward to the Face of love,
As I step into eternity's gate,
Words and deeds sown to destroy will be defeated,
For I will finally leave them behind and step into eternity's gate.
Today my mind is filled with questions as I look through a mirror,
---Unable to see clearly.
When I step through to enter into the bliss of Your presence,
All will be revealed and the mysteries of my life will be made known.
I will receive the key from Your Hand and the hidden secrets of time
---Will be unveiled.

Today I see shadows and partial truths of the reality to come,
But eternity's gate is waiting for me,
And someday it will open to receive my soul,
And the burden of today will become the reality
Of yesterday dead in the dust.
Each day becomes a step nearer to eternity's gate,
Until my spirit hears the call I must live with today,
But one day perfect peace will come to me,
When I step into Your Presence and reach eternity's gate.
