Time to Take a Stand

Christianity is rapidly being eroded, sad to say from within. The biggest factor is practising homosexuals getting the OK for church membership and, horror of horrors, allowed to hold positions of authority.

Unrepentant, practising homosexual activists campaigned long and hard to join mainline churches. Now they have succeeded. Whatever book they base their case on, it certainly isn’t the Holy Bible! They have convinced some main-line church leaders but they won’t convince God.

This is utter folly by those who ought to know better, who purport to serve God yet have taken these decisions. It damages all that Jesus stands for. It makes a mockery of the cross, the blood, and makes Jesus even more irrelevant in the eyes of the world than before.

God sets out the rules in the Bible as to what qualifies a church as a church. When it departs from God’s instruction it should no longer exist. Even if it does it must surely be irrelevant in God’s view.

The whole purpose of Jesus’ coming was to set mankind free from sin. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:3) “…but unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). God loves the person but hates the sin.

If Christians do welcome sinners who refuse to repent, they are disobeying God, for: “What fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)

The only sensible course of action for those Christians betrayed by their “leaders” is to quit that denomination—in massive numbers. Drastic but necessary. That way the said church will soon collapse and there will be no funds to pay the wayward leaders, nor their sinning small congregation that remains.

If practising homosexuals and other sinners choose to disobey God’s Word as a way of life—that’s their business. They can start a “church”, but they won’t see born-again Christians at their premises.

Most non-Christians who also believe in the family unit—man, wife, children—will now baulk at entrusting little Johnny into the care of one who may be a practising homosexual. The previous TV and newspaper headlines of pedophile acts (and other sexual abuse by priests and ministers) did nothing to increase trust. Non-believers were suspicious before. Now they’ll be hostile. No doubt they'll have taken note of the lack of protest by Christians generally.

These latest innovations in the name of liberty, enlightenment, and a non-biblical, Jesus-tolerates-all-sins belief, will only increase the lack of trust. The chasm between non-believers and the church will widen.

The only way for that trust to be regained is for those in Christ to take a stand. Next time there is even a hint of this kind of evil infiltration it must be opposed immediately.

No more sitting on the fence, no more apathy. Prayer, yes, but it’s time for action. Time to get out there with placards, time for voices to be heard.

I wish I had said this my self because this is the boldness that is needed in today's cavelier society.

It is a sad day when Christians choose to be politically correct rather than Biblically correct. I know which one God will be on the Day of Judgement...

Thank you again Rod for speaking the truth so uncompromisingly. It's heartbreaking to see the deception that's going on within the Church. Sin is sin, and although we reach out to everyone with the love and grace of God, there has to be a turning away from sin when we come to Christ. We can't have it both ways, and as you pointed out, that isn't just regarding homosexuality. It's sin generally. We do still slip and we do still sin, however, it should grieve our hearts when we do. I also agree with you that it's time for the men and women of God to leave the denominations which have headed this "politically correct" direction. Even if their own congregations don't agree with the decisions and will never call an active homosexual to their pulpit, they are still giving silent agreement by their membership in the denomination. Anyway Rod, once again, thank you for saying the hard things. With love, Deb

Very true, it has been depressing with all the talk of voting in the openly gay man. We should love sinners and even those who struggle and fall back into sin but this is an outrage. I agree that we (the church) will be less trusted but the good news is that no matter what the true chruch will continue to stand and reach people for Jesus!
On a technical note I think 'practising' is 'practicing'.
