Larry Lilly's Letter Tuesday April 24, 2007

Well, what do you know, another 'bully' has revealed himself and what he thought was his "little secret" is now buzzing around the world via media and internet to say nothing of telephone, telegraph and telewoman.

Alec Baldwin. And he appears on TV and movies to be such a nice guy. Most Americans agree with this assessment. His "eleven or twelve" year old daughter disagrees and with good reason.

It seems the good actor was not getting his ex, Kim Basinger and the little girl to properly jump through the hoops he was demanding and so "off he went" on the child. Someone, who is not clear as I write, taped the voice mail and well, you know the rest of the story. I heard the replay on Fox News. And every other station, plus read a printed copy from one of the many papers. What a jerk Mr. Baldwin appears to be.

"You're a rude pig," is very effective verbiage to use in the hope that the child will have unhealthy self esteem, or for Christian terms, understand that God sees her as beautiful in His sight. I’m told that children see God through the actions of dad. What a thought that this child now fears that God sees her as a "Rude Pig."

The Baldwin side of this wants whoever taped and released this garbage charged as there is/may be, a court ordered gag on such exchanges. A friend asked what I thought about the gag order and my response is simple, Court Ordered Gags should be obeyed. In this case the judge should lift the order, and find a kitchen sink to have the system hurl at the apparent sophisticated Mr. Baldwin.

Please, I know, "He lost it, he is not at all like it seems." How much would you like to bet. Stressful situations in which you do not get your way, do NOT make you a bully, they do reveal that you have bully tendencies. I for one vote to deny the grand actor, and that’s what he is, a grand actor, any unsupervised contact with the child.

Calling your little girl a "Rude Pig" is simply unacceptable from Alec or any other maniacal control freak.

I wonder that our country isn't on more of a downslide than is currently observable when you factor in the outrageous conduct of parents in regard to nurturing children along the path to adulthood.

I like the picture of Jesus inviting the children to come unto Him, and commanding the disciples to clear the path for these little ones as they come to Him. I seem to recall that it is better for a millstone to be tied around the adult’s neck and he/she be thrown into the Pacific. Further, most all bullies say "I'm sorry" when they are caught bullying and they do not bully anymore, until the next time they do not get their way. Perhaps Mr. Baldwin will have a younger, female and "Ample" judge.
