I See a Stream, All Crimson

I see a stream, all crimson-hued
Where souls of men are dipped.
Though you think not, I swear,
They come up white as lily lips.

Burdens, tied upon their backs,
Melt in the crimson tide.
Beauty glows within their hearts,
Seen on the outer side!

A peace abides as fear subsides;
Remains no taint of sin.
The holy, crimson, blood dissolves
The deepest guilt of men!

Oh, blood of strength to last for aye ~
Oh, blood shed just for me!
The Power lasts, from age to age,
And sets the vilest free!

Oh, precious blood which took His life
To cleanse and set us free;
Immerse me, now, Oh, crimson stream.
Cleanse me eternally!
