Gentle drops upon the land
our Maker blesses with His Hand
the land and people with spring showers
just a glimspe of His powers.
His spirit whispers to our souls
only a few words, so we'll know
that He is speaking, and desires
to send us more, through rain and fire.
We're not yet ready for Heaven's storms
mighty torrents by His arms
our spirits have not yet been trained
to endure that kind of rain
so He whispers in the spring
soft and gentle rain He brings
then we are able to recognise
His voice that speaks into our lives.
And one day we will be ready
for raging winds and rain thats steady
and we won't be alarmed
by the mighty, thundering storms.
God has prepared our souls
to listen as the thunder rolls
and we will recieve the power
He'll impart to us in that hour.
