The Dream

We have desires deep within
Things we want to accomplish or be
Thinking we know the best for our lives
Wanting things we probably can’t have nor need

Dreaming of what it would be like
To have a taste of that kind of life
Always looking outside our own
Imaging how it would be to have the better one

There is a saying, be careful what you wish for
For when you are dreaming you’re not living it
For all you know the ones with the “life” are dejected and miserable
The smiles on their faces all just an act
Not all that glitters is gold as you will see
Why don’t you take some time to think clearly

For all you know your life is great and awesome
You don’t really need the glitter and fortune
You don’t really need a fly girl or boyfriend, wife or husband
You don’t even need to be the hottest thing on earth
Just take time and appreciate the many blessings that you have

What standards are you using for your dream
If they are of this world don’t bother because it will perish
And all your efforts and depression for no cause, but useless
As the things of the world always vanish and they are temporary

How many more nights will you despise yourself and your life
Because of the world which says you have nothing
Stripping you of your dignity and self worth, and you buy it
Their lies, hypocrisy and pretence until it makes you fade away

Take heart, there is a solution and it comes in the Lords Son
Come out of hiding for there is the Ancient of Days who was there when it all began
The Savoir who is ready and willing to change your thought patterns
Who will give you a brand new lease on life, life in abundance!!

And your life will meet with its fate and true meaning
Reunited to the lover of its core-your soul, giving you a new heart beat
Your lover being Jesus Christ whose blood is ready to wrap you up so tenderly
He is the one who knows what is best for you, the sky is the limit as long as you serve Him
He is eager to engulf you in his love and unconditional is the only form it comes in or can be received

And you will appreciate that you are chosen and your life is so precious
You will have no doubt in your mind that there is hope in all circumstances
And you will love yourself as you will know you are truly loved and cherished
All you need to do is call on Him, and surrender your life to him and his will
And you will have the better life you want, but this time God is in control of your dream
