Poetry
is winding and complex.
Much more difficult
than the life you’d expect.
The course is intense
for a beneficial reason,
For there is purpose
in every life-season.
Without any challenge
there wouldn’t be any gain.
As there would be no flowers
without any rain.
God has placed you upon
this long, stony road,
He has given to you
this stress-laden load.
Take these potholes and bumps
however you will,
You will learn a vital lesson
As you trek up the hill.
Whether you take
the path with a smile,
Or whether you dread
every single, rocky mile.
The harsh, rugged road
will endure more fair,
If you observe your surroundings;
keep perceptions aware
That vividly flourishing
by the road there today,
God has fashioned blossoms
to inspire your way.
Blossoms and blessings
are one in the same.
Recognize where you’re going,
and the wisdom you’ll gain.
God hasn’t promised that
our paths will be smooth,
Our choice is however
which attitude we’ll choose.
