Picture Perfect

Posted April 5, 2007 - Smile and say “Cheese” the photographers or camera happy folks always say, but whenever I try to pose for the picture I look like it s a mug shot , I take much better pictures if it is natural catching me off guard when I do not know it is being done.

I feel I am not as photogenic as some people are so the only way I consent to getting a picture of me done is to make an appointment for that gorgeous shot by way of a total makeover, now they are always good. I thought about getting an updated one since the last one was about 10 years ago (the younger the better) that one I really liked. I suppose I should get another one and that will be the last one. My children like getting pictures of me and I always have a fit. At work too we have a lot of it going on at our social gatherings. Perhaps I could get up 1 hour earlier for that glamour makeup look but who wears that much in the day time and besides sleep is much more important early in the morning.

Do you know God says we are the apple of his eye? He says we are made in the image and likeness of Him; and that we are the righteousness of God in Christ. If God made us than we are OK, He doesn’t see flaws on our faces.

I think it may not be a good thing to say my mouth is too small or I don’t like my smile, etc. How can I criticize God’s creation? I know the New Year is fast approaching and although I don’t make a list t of resolutions ( other than I want more intimacy with the Lord) I am going to try to lighten up on this running from the camera’s next year and remind myself that I am the handiwork of God and that He is the master artist and He decided to give me the features I have so I need to be content and thank God for this life he has given me and the joy in living it to the fullest for Him even if it means a few mug shots get taken.

Next time when that dreaded little camera comes near me, I will just smile and say “Picture Perfect “that’s me!
